The Edmonton and Area Fetal Alcohol Network’s FASD Day Breakfast held September 9, 2010 was a huge success! This year’s event was held at the Riverdale Community Hall in Edmonton and was attended by over 110 individuals including: many professionals from agencies in and around Edmonton, local politicians, clients of EFAN funded FASD support programs as well as the Global TV news crew. EFAN was able to offer fantastic door prizes due to gift card donations by M&M Meat Shops, Winners/Homesense and Vertically Inclined Rock Gym. Another highlight of the morning was awarding prizes to the winners of our FASD Flick Video Contest, short amateur videos were produced about FASD for educational purposes and were debuted and voted upon by the crowd. EFAN also recognized the significant work of 2 outstanding individuals! Gail Schuller (now retired) and Paul Pringle who work in the FASD field were awarded FASD Awards of Excellence. The Network has received very positive feedback about the event and is looking forward to planning FASD Day 2011!
