The Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) is hosting a Pan-Territorial FASD Symposium at the Explorer Hotel in Yellowknife, NWT on March 4th and 5th, 2014 on behalf of the CNFASDP. The theme of the Symposium is; “Sharing Voices, Inspiring Hope: FASD in Northern Communities – Finding Solutions that Work”.
The Symposium will bring together professionals and community care providers from a wide range of disciplines to share information on innovative approaches and promising practices to prevent FASD, and to meet the needs of northerners who are affected by this life-long disability.
The two-day event will include key-note speakers, workshops and panel presentations on a variety of topics related to FASD, including educating educators, screening and diagnosis and FASD and the justice system. Experts in the field of FASD research will share their knowledge and presentations will include a focus on issues that apply specifically to northern communities.
