Housing Director

NWR FASD Society is currently recruiting a Housing Director to take the lead on our exciting new Supportive Housing Initiative. This innovative and unique initiative is intended to support individuals with a FASD diagnosis within a permanent supportive housing environment. This five year provincially funded (through Human Services) pilot project commences in September, 2014. NWR FASD Society is a supportive and forward thinking organization and a pioneer in providing effective and quality services to individuals and families impacted by FASD in the Mackenzie Region. We are looking for someone who is passionate about helping people reach their fullest potential; has experience with project management; is enthusiastic and hardworking; and always up for an exciting challenge.


–         University/college degree with experience in Housing program coordination/development

–         Knowledgeable in project management

–         Proficiency in the use of computers for : word processing, simple accounting Data base management, spreadsheets, email and internet

–         Experience with housing or residential projects

–         Experience in a supervisory role

–         Experience working with individuals with FASD


Basic Responsibilities:

–         Plan project including but not limited to: policy and procedures, develop forms including data base, record and file information, research and assess data

–         Collaborate with other residential programs to utilize knowledge base and experience

–         Report to and collaborate with Executive Director

–         Communicate, verbally and written, project progress to board, committee and stakeholders

–         Collaborate with community partners to develop understanding of need of project in region

–         Work within a group setting to establish understanding of client base this project will be for

–         Work with the evaluation team to ensure accurate evaluation of the initiative’s effectiveness

–         Supervise housing staff and ensure that policies and procedures are being adhered to



–         $48,000.00 – $54,000.00 dependent on experience

–         Comprehensive benefit package
