This webinar is an extension of our webinar series on screening tools for FASD. We will be welcoming speakers from the CN-CYR and the NeuroDevNet communities to help bring some of the latest information on this important subject.
Screening and diagnosis of FASD are important issues, but if we see a positive diagnosis, what then? Join us as we take a look at what the research is telling us about what is working to help children affected FASD.

Dr. Gail Andrew MD, MDCM FRCP(C), Site Lead Paediatrics and Medical Director of FASD Services, Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital, and Clinical Professor, University of Alberta, Edmonton, Alberta
Dr. Andrew is a paediatrician at the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital, whose main interest has been in the area of developmental, learning,behavioural and emotional challenges of children, including those with known risk factors of prematurity, prenatal exposure to alcohol and adverse life experiences such as maltreatment. She has a major interest in all aspects of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, including prevention, diagnostic assessments, interventions and support of individuals with FASD and their caregivers. Dr. Andrew is also the co-chair of the Knowledge Translation and Exchange committee of the Canadian Network of Child and Youth Rehabilitation Centres and was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for her contributions to FASD in Canada.
Dr. Jacqueline Pei, Ph. D., R.Psych, Assistant Professor, Department of Educational Psychology, Assistant Clinical Professor, Department of Pediatrics, University of Alberta, Edmonton, Alberta
Dr Jacqueline Pei is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Educational Psychology and Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Alberta. Also a practicing Registered Psychologist for the past ten years, Dr Pei began her career as a criminologist and forensic counselor working with incarcerated youth. Motivated by this early work, she returned to academia to study youth at risk, child development, and neuropsychology, leading to her current focus on interventions for individuals with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders. Building on her work with various community and government agencies, including serving on the FASD Clinical Diagnostic Team at the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital, Dr Pei currently leads the Intervention Network Action Team (iNAT) for the Canada FASD Research Network.
Dr. Carmen Rasmussen PhD, Assistant Professor, Section of Pediatric Neurosciences, Department of Pediatrics, University of Alberta, Edmonton, Alberta
Carmen Rasmussen (PhD in Developmental Psychology) is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Alberta and a Research Affiliate at the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital, in Edmonton, Alberta. She researches neurobehavioral functioning in children with FASD.
