Alberta Children’s Hospital is Looking For Research Participants, Developmental Neuroimaging Lab

Screen Shot 2017-06-11 at 4.40.25 PMThe “Developmental Neuroimaging Lab”, is conducting a study to learn more about the effects of prenatal alcohol exposure on the developing brain.

They are looking for children between the ages of 2 and 8 years with confirmed alcohol exposure to participate in this study. The research includes completing a comprehensive cognitive/behavioral assessments along with an MRI scan of the child’s brain.

By the analyzing the assessments and the brain image, they want to not only identify the impact of prenatal alcohol exposure in preschool children but also work towards improving screening, diagnosis and intervention for these kids.

  1. A great opportunity for families to have a full assessment and diagnosis in Alberta: this at a time when the opportunity for assessment and diagnosis of FASD has been significantly reduced in Ontario.
