Health is just one component of wellness, but wellness is a major determinant of health. Likewise, poverty and loneliness share a similar linkage. The effects of poverty on both health and wellness are well understood but loneliness has perhaps an equally significant impact. The good news is that civic action, whether from individuals, volunteer groups or the municipality, can have profound health and wellness benefits at little to no cost.
This presentation will explore how municipal action, from the perspective of poverty and loneliness, can potentially have an even greater impact on people’s health and wellness than the formal health care system.
This event is in-person only. Lunch will be provided, Vegan and Gluten Free options will be available.
