Community Outreach Worker (Full Time)

Catholic Social Services is currently seeking a 40 hours per week, Community Outreach Worker in EDMONTON to join our dynamic and talented team. Providing excellent client-centered care, you are confident, thoughtful, and motivated to achieve success when supporting others in your community.

This position has a weekly schedule of Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Some evening and weekend work needed.

Program Overview: 

Step-by-Step Program: The Step by Step Program was created to address the needs and issues facing mothers and fathers, who are suspected of or have been diagnosed with FASD, and parenting children (with or without FASD). The Program supports parents with basic living/parenting skills and expands their supports. This is a 3 year one-on-one mentorship program.

Job Summary:

As a Community Outreach Worker, you will advocate for and with clients to help process information. You will be responsible for assessing the needs of clients to address challenges, access resources, and to assist them in developing life and social skills. You will ensure the clients have an ongoing network of support while providing emotional and practical support to foster independence. As a Step By Step Mentor, you will help clients gain an understanding of a Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) diagnosis and may help them obtain a FASD assessment as required.
