New Alberta Disability Assistance Program (ADAP) Launching in July 2026

The Government of Alberta has introduced the Alberta Disability Assistance Program (ADAP), a new disability income support program designed for Albertans with disabilities who are able to work with the right supports. Beginning in July 2026, ADAP will provide financial assistance, health benefits, employment supports, and opportunities for individuals to pursue employment while maintaining access to essential services.

ADAP will operate alongside the Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped (AISH) program, with eligibility determined based on an individual’s disability-related needs and ability to work. The Government of Alberta has developed a Frequently Asked Questions document to help individuals, families, caregivers, and service providers better understand the upcoming changes.

We encourage our community members to review the information below and contact Alberta Supports or their local AISH office if they have questions about how these changes may affect them.
