The Edmonton Fetal Alcohol Network (EFAN) is actively engaged in two significant provincial projects: the FASD Prevention Conversation: A Shared Responsibility and the WRaP 2.0 FASD Coaching Partnership Project. These initiatives highlight EFAN’s steadfast commitment to community development, particularly in the realm of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD).
Through the ongoing FASD Prevention Conversation, EFAN aims to involve diverse stakeholders in a collective dialogue, emphasizing the shared responsibility in reducing the incidence of prenatal alcohol exposure (PAE) and supporting healthy outcomes. This is achieved by providing presentations and training on the foundations of FASD and prevention curriculum with a youth and adult focus. Simultaneously, the WRaP 2.0 FASD Coaching Partnership Project enhances the capacity of Alberta educators to meet the needs of students with FASD by providing professional development and instructional coaching on FASD-informed practices to school authority staff.
These projects exemplify EFAN’s proactive approach and mark significant strides in the ongoing effort to address FASD and its multifaceted areas in the province of Alberta.
