The Alberta government is committed to reducing the incidence of FASD and ensuring individuals living with FASD and their caregivers get the critical support they need.
Alberta’s FASD 10-Year Strategic Plan focuses on developing and delivering community-based solutions, making it easier for people affected by FASD to get the help they need, at any point during their life. FASD-related initiatives across Alberta help build awareness, promote prevention, increase access to FASD assessment and diagnosis clinics, conduct new research, and provide support for individuals living with FASD and their caregivers.
The FASD 10-Year Strategic Plan provides an overview of the scope and impact of FASD on individuals and families in Alberta. It identifies a vision, mission statement, guiding principles and a broad framework for the coordination, planning and delivery of FASD services across Alberta in the areas of:

- Training and Education
- Stakeholder Engagement
This document provides a definition for each area, and identifies target groups, desired outcomes, and gaps in services and supports. In addition, the future strategies associated with each area are highlighted and strategy leads are identified for implementing the FASD 10-Year Strategic Plan.
