The Edmonton and area Fetal Alcohol Network Society will be hosting its Annual General Meeting on September 6, 2016. The event will take place at the Edmonton Valley Zoo. Space is limited. Please RSVP by August 1st, 2016 to Lisa.Rogozinsky@cssalberta.ca
This year for International FASD Day (September 9th, 2016), the Edmonton and area Fetal Alcohol Network Society would like to do something different.
Instead of planning one event to raise awareness we are challenging our Members, Stakeholders, and Community to plan their own events, big or small, that help inform people about Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) and get them talking about the dangers around alcohol and pregnancy!
So what are the rules? Very simple, as an individual or team, plan an event the week of September 5th – September 9th, 2016. It could be a ‘Lunch And Learn’, a coffee meet-up, starting the conversation at your staff meeting, distributing information packages to friends, family members, colleagues… The sky is only limited by your creativity!
We are wanting to use these events as part of our social-media platform for the week to spread the fabulous work and conversations beyond just us so we want pictures!
How do you participate? Very simple,
- Plan, host, participate in an event big or small that brings awareness to FASD and starts conversations about the dangers of alcohol and pregnancy.
- Take pictures during your event!
- Write up a short paragraph about what you did, who helped you, who you talked to, and any other interesting information.
- Email your pictures and write-up to the Network Coordinator Lisa.Rogozinsky@cssalberta.ca (Please send no later than the evening of September 9th, 2016).
Did we forget to mention there are prizes? Yes, we are challenging you and it is a competition, so let the most creative, innovative individual or team win!
If you would like materials to handout during your event please email Lisa Rogozinsky or if you are looking for more information on the core FASD prevention messages please visit: www.preventionconversation.org
