A free webinar for Social Workers, Educators and Mental Health Professionals
Are you a professional or service provider supporting families that may be experiencing aggressive behaviours by child(ren) and youth? A national consultation with families highlighted an urgent need for these families to access professionals who understand Aggression towards Family/Caregivers in Childhood & Adolescence (AFCCA) and who can be part of a larger circle of support.
Please join Adopt4Life’s AFCCA Family Supports Program Team for a FREE webinar where you will learn evidence-based strategies and practice-informed approaches to help build capacity within families and safety within the home, designed and tailored to address the issues and needs of your specific professional sector.
Learning outcomes for these webinars include:
- Develop your understanding of aggression toward parents / caregivers during childhood and adolescence.
- Strengthen your skill set in identifying and addressing the needs of vulnerable families.
- Gain understanding of the relationship between neurodevelopmental disabilities (FASD, ASD, ADHD, etc.), trauma and AFCCA.
- Learn evidence-based strategies and practice-informed approaches to help build capacity within families and safety within the home.
*AFCCA refers to Aggression towards Family/Caregivers in Childhood & Adolescence. AFCCA can be a difficult subject to talk about and families often share they feel shame, stigma, and isolation when they do seek help. Everyone involved—including the youth themselves—is at risk of physical and/or psychological harm, as well as family instability and possible breakdown.
Webinars will be recorded and sent to all registrants after the live event. Please register even if you aren’t available that day/time. Participants joining the live event will have opportunity for Q & A with the presenters.
Presenters: Maude Champagne and Tanya Eichler
Registration fee covered by Ontario’s Ministry of Children, Community and Social Service.
