Mocktails with Mounties focuses on updated low-risk drinking guidelines

Leduc and area residents can enjoy one of two evenings out with the City of Leduc, Leduc Community Drug Action Committee and the Leduc RCMP to learn more about what the updated low risk drinking guidelines mean and how they can benefit their individual health, wellness and safety.

“It’s important for people to know they have options when enjoying a night out and that alcohol doesn’t always need to be involved,” says Amanda Ulrickson, manager of Family and Community Support Services with the City of Leduc. “We want people to feel empowered to make informed choices when planning a fun evening with family and friends.”

Mocktails with Mounties is similar to the Leduc RCMP’s Mochas with Mounties initiative as it encourages citizens to come out, ask questions and meet others in the community.

“We understand people like to go out and have a good time,” says Cst. Cheri-Lee Smith, Leduc RCMP. “Mocktails with Mounties provides community members the opportunity to enjoy a mocktail while having conversation and learning about safe and responsible drinking.”
