Métis Week is an opportunity to celebrate the rich history, culture, traditions, and contributions of Métis people across Alberta. Organized by the Otipemisiwak Métis Government, this year’s celebrations take place November 15–22, 2026, with events bringing communities together through music, dance, storytelling, cultural activities, and remembrance.
The week also honours the life and legacy of Louis Riel, whose leadership and advocacy for Métis rights continue to hold great significance. November 16 marks Louis Riel Day, an important time for reflection and recognition.
