2016 Sexual Exploitation Week of Awareness

This week of awareness is organized and hosted by the Sexual Exploitation Working Group (SEWG). The SEWG is an Edmonton-based leadership group collaborating to create awareness of sexual exploitation and its causes and impacts. The group is a collaborative of community partners, law enforcement, municipal and provincial government, and REACH Edmonton.

The official opening ceremonies of Edmonton’s Sexual Exploitation Week of Awareness.

Join dignitaries, community leaders and citizens of Edmonton as they come together to inform, empower and inspire our community to stop sexual exploitation.

  • Moment of Silence – Kathleen Quinn, CEASE: Centre to End All Sexual Exploitation
  • Prayer – Elder Tom Snow and Amanda Woodward, Flutist
  • Remarks and Presentation of the Proclamation – Councillor Scott McKeen, City of Edmonton
  • Remarks – Inspector Dwayne Lakusta, Edmonton Police Service
  • Closing Remarks – Lindsay Daniller, REACH Edmonton
