This post bears sad news. It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of our much-loved friend and colleague, Colleen Julia Hook (Ceej), Monday, November 22, 2021. As the Program Supervisor for the McDaniel Youth Program with Catholic Social Services, Colleen dedicated over a decade supporting youth and young adults with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder in an outreach program she passionately helped design. She has been a contributing member to the Edmonton and area Fetal Alcohol Network with her social media savvy posts on FASD and its prevention.
While she leaves us early, she will be remembered not only for her profound dislike of onions, mushrooms, and early mornings but her love of her cats, comics, Halloween, and the color purple. Please join me in offering our deepest condolences to all who knew and loved our Batgirl Colleen.
We are not aware of the funeral arrangements at this time but will pass these on as they become known.
Colleen was such a special person. She had enormous love and compassion for the youth she worked with and the McDaniel Program was her “baby”. I will miss her laugh and some of the passionate discussions we had. Rest easy my friend.
So very sorry, my condolences to her colleagues and the youth that she cared about so much. She made a difference and I hope she rests in peace with that knowledge ~ Fayanne
