The MNA Children and Family Services Department understands that raising a child/youth with FASD is rewarding and challenging. We have heard from parents and caregivers who say they feel isolated and misunderstood because their parenting experience is so different from that of their friends and family. In response, our FASD Bridging Connections Program has created a place for Metis parents/caregivers and caregivers of Metis youth with FASD to connect, learn, and experience community in our monthly support group called FASD Caregiver Connect Nights.
Parents and Caregivers of Metis youth with FASD are welcome to join us as we gather on the second Wednesday of every month for support, cultural connection, camaraderie, and to discuss important topics such as Strategies for School Success, FASD & Sensory Processing, Stigma and more. Our next FASD Caregiver Connect Night will be on Wednesday, Sept 13 at 6:00 pm on Zoom. Parents and Caregivers can register using the QR Code above or with this link Register here.
For those folks who wants to learn more we offer bi-monthly online FASD Information Sessions that are open to everyone. Our next FASD Information Session will be 6-7 pm, September 26, 2023 with guest speaker Angela Kemble, Executive Director of the NWC FASD Network, on the topic of Strategies for School Success. Register Here.
You are welcome to share these resources with the agencies connected with your Network and the families you support. Attached is a social post that you can use to promote the FASD Caregiver Connect Nights on your social media and newsletters.
