Bridges (FASD) Mentor
Full-time / Temporary position
(to March 31, 2012 – with the possibility of extension)
 
Leduc County is offering a challenging opportunity in our Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) Department.
The Bridges (FASD) Mentor Program is an intensive, long-term support program targeted at adult men and women (and their children) who have FASD. The mentor will provide support in daily life management to stabilize clients’ lives and reduce secondary disabilities. Responsibilities include mentoring appropriate skills, transporting clients at times to appointments throughout Leduc County (occasionally Edmonton), forming liaisons with service providers, advocating on their behalf when necessary, and forming a circle of support in the community.
Applicants should possess a degree or diploma in the human services/social services field and extensive experience with FASD and trauma informed practice.
Employment is dependent on satisfactory completion of a Criminal Records check, Child Welfare background check, and Driver’s Abstract check. A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle are requirements of the position.
