It’s a Party! Suggestions for a successful birthday party for children with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD)
NOFASD is proud to launch the Birthday Party Book, written by their National Helpline Manager Robyn Smith. Robyn has been supporting parents, carers and individuals with FASD on the NOFASD Helpline for more than 4 years. With permission and support from a number of wonderful parents, and with publishing assistance from Early Childhood Australia, Robyn has compiled this excellent guide for parents and carers for organising a successful birthday party.
Organising a birthday party is never an easy task. Organising a birthday party for children with a neurodevelopmental disability such as Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) makes this even more challenging. This booklet aims to help with the process of planning a party specifically for children with FASD. It reflects the ideas and experiences of parents and carers who have managed to deliver some well-organised parties after learning the hard way.
By breaking down the steps, this booklet hopes to provide useful advice and strategies on how you can make birthdays fun for children with FASD. Download your free electronic copy here
